Dear all,
Having previously showed interest in our work, I think you will be interested to know that the production of Oban Star-Racers, the 26 half hour animated series based on our award winning pilot film Molly Star-Racer, is nearing completion.
Time flies doesn’t it?
It’s now been more than 8 years since I first came up with the original idea for Oban / Molly; 4 years since the release of our award winning 2001 trailer; and more than 2 since Thomas Romain, Stanislas Brunet and myself started living and working in Tokyo on the production on the 26 half hour TV series…
To be perfectly honest I never expected the project would take that long to complete, nor that it would be that demanding. Yet looking back at the work we’ve accomplished so far, I think there was no other way to approach the series - at least no other way for us.
We put the long years of preparation to good use, fine-crafting the project, pushing the story development and of the designs always a little further, making sure we came up with the production process and the partners that best fitted our vision for the show. And once we finally got the production going, we gladly poured all we got into it - 13 hours a day, 6 days a week.
It was not always easy, but it never ceased to be a great adventure. All I hope now is that you’ll enjoy watching "OSR” as much as we enjoyed creating it for you.
I’ll try to keep you updated on the last phases of the production, as well as on the planned release dates per territory when they are decided.
You can already get a glimpse at the evolution “Molly” and her friends went through since the 2001 trailer on the new teaser we posted on our website:
www.savtheworld.com.
We’d love to know your impressions, and you're more than welcome to spread the news around.
Thanks again for your support and a happy new year 2006.
Savin Yeatman-Eiffel,
in the name of the whole Sav! The World team.
